Free Live Music In Houston Summer 2010

Here is a list of FREE or NEARLY FREE music concerts in Houston for the summer of 2010. Please add any that you know of in the comments below:

Rock The Docks. Kemah Boardwalk -Thursday nights. May through September.

Boomin’ By The Bay – Kemah Boardwalk Light Force presents some of the Hotest bands on the Christian Rock scene. Tuesday nights in July.

Miller Outdoor Theater – Herman Park/Zoo/Nat. Hist Museum – Daytime and evening music, dance, theater and movies all summer and early fall. Pop, Jazz, Latin, Gospel, Classical, Ethnic, Kids programs, Everything!

Hot Tunes Cool Nights 2010 Concert Series – Free Concerts, Saturday nights in July, on the square in downtown Brenham, Texas.  The home of Blue Bell Ice Cream and a springtime full of Bluebonnets and Paintbrush. Bring your lawn chairs and coolers and have some nice family fun on the street. Brenham Rotary and Chamber of Commerce sell food, snacks and ice cold beverages. Parking is free and easy to get to.

Houston Symphony Target Summer Nights – at Miller Outdoor Theater. Picnic in the grass. Seats are free if you pick them up on the day of the performance at the ticket box.

Houston Symphony – Summer in the City -Some of these are FREE, some are $1 ONE DOLLAR. Some are ticketed/

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The Woodlands – The Houston Symphony concerts are free if you sit in the grass.

Drum Corps International – The Berry Center, July 22, 23 2010.  You can go watch them warm up and practice in the parking lot for FREE.  It’s cool to see them up close.  Tickets for the good seats go fast. Get them in advance because the lines are long & SLOW on the day of the competition.

Hempstead Watermelon Festival – Live music, fun, food and beverage. 45 minutes from downtown Houston toward Austin.  July.

Traders Village – Free Music Every Week beginning in June.

Discovery Green – in Downtown Houston. Free concerts and other free events.

Galveston’s Summer Band Concert Series  – Free!

Navasota Blues Fest – One of the largest blues festivals in the country just up highway 6 in Navasota between Hempstead and Bryan-College Station. August 13, 14, 2010.
